We are a fast-growing and innovative cannabis company. As part of our expansion, we are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Information Technology Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an industry-leading company where Information Technology is a top priority.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Network Infrastructure Management
• Design, install, and maintain the facility's local area network (LAN), wireless network, and internet connectivity.
• Ensure secure and stable network performance for all departments (production, quality, administration, etc.).
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues and ensure uninterrupted network availability.
2. Server and Data Management
• Manage on-site and/or cloud-based servers responsible for ERP systems, file storage, surveillance systems, and compliance data.
• Perform routine maintenance, updates, and backups of all critical systems.
• Monitor system performance and ensure adequate cybersecurity protocols are in place (firewalls, access controls, anti-virus, etc.).
3. BMS (Building Management System) Support
• Maintain and troubleshoot the BMS system that controls environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, CO₂, lighting, etc.).
• Ensure accurate data logging and alarm systems are functional for regulatory and operational compliance.
• Collaborate with the Quality and Production teams to optimize and report environmental control data.
4. Compliance and Traceability
• Ensure IT systems meet Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and local regulatory requirements, particularly regarding data integrity.
• Support the implementation and validation of software systems used for quality assurance, batch tracking, and inventory management.
• Maintain logs and audit trails for all critical systems.
5. User Support and Training
• Provide technical support to staff across all departments, including hardware, software, and system access issues.
• Train new users on system use and cybersecurity best practices.
6. System Integration and Automation
• Integrate different systems (e.g., ERP, BMS, laboratory systems) to support a seamless production and compliance workflow.
• Work with external vendors or internal engineering teams to implement new technology solutions.
7. Security Systems Support
• Oversee access control systems (e.g., RFID badge systems) and surveillance camera networks (CCTV).
• Ensure secure data storage and real-time monitoring capabilities are maintained and functioning.
QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATION
1. Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (required).
2. Master’s degree or relevant certifications (optional but preferred), such as:
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) / Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
• CompTIA Network+ or Security+
• VMware Certified Professional
3. Minimum 5 years of experience in IT systems administration, networking, or infrastructure support, preferably in a regulated industry (pharmaceutical, biotech, or food production).
4. Familiarity with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) environments or validated systems (CSV) is a strong advantage.
5. Practical knowledge of:
• Network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs)
• Server management (Windows/Linux environments, backups, virtualization)
• Building Management Systems (BMS) or SCADA systems
• Cybersecurity practices and data protection regulations
6. English language skills, both written and spoken.
7. Ability to document systems and configurations in line with compliance standards.
